Trying to read a new book "The immune system cure" (by Lorna R. Vanderhaeghe & Patrick J. D. Bouic). On the head page, I just read this:

2000 BC: Here, eat this root.
1000 BC: That root is heathen. Here, say this prayer.
1805 AD: That prayer is superstition. Here, drink this potion.
1940 AD: That potion is snake oil. Here, swallow this pill.
1985 AD: That pill is ineffective. Here, take this antibiotic.
2000 AD: That antiboitic doesn't work anymore. Here, take this root...

Hi Yun Yi. In many ways, there’s a lot of truth to this poem. The history of medicine comes full circle. Today, many people are going back to the natural ways of curing illness, back to taking the roots.
ReplyDeleteMadilyn, it is true. Having been so much trouble with health, I have never (literally) been benefited from modern medicine. I stopped seeing doctor almost completely for all my chronicle internal symptoms.
